Coverage Descriptions
Damage to your Boat – The policy covers damage to your boat, motor, and trailer resulting from an accident, subject to your deductible.
Liability – The policy pays when you or a family member are legally liable for either bodily injury or property damage to another party. It also pays court defense costs.
Replacement coverage for personal effects – You'll get replacement coverage for your personal non-boating items while on board. Items such as clothing, sporting equipment, and other personal belongings are protected up to $250.
Medical Payments – Pays medical and funeral expenses for the insured, members of the insured's household, and passengers in a covered boat if an accident causes bodily injury or death. The limit of coverage must be the same on all boats we insure.
Loss of Income – Loss of income is included on every policy that has Coverage C–Medical Payments. This coverage pays when a covered person is disabled because of a boat accident. The lost income period starts the 15th day after the accident and ends 54 weeks after the accident or when the injured person no longer is disabled or dies.
Emergency service – Your watercraft is covered for labor at the site of a breakdown, towing to the nearest repair facility, and delivery costs for fuel, oil, or a battery. This coverage is important since current regulations only allow the Coast Guard to help you if your boat is in "imminent peril" of sinking.
Year-round protection – With our 12-month policy, you'll avoid a potentially costly loss – such as winter storm damage, theft, fire, or another hazard – that happens during a lapse in coverage.
Deductibles – Select a single deductible on your hull and motor(s). A standard $50 deductible applies to your trailer. You don't pay several deductibles if more than one item is damaged in a single loss. Only one deductible applies in that case.
