New poll reveals speeding, texting habits

Washingtonians’ driving habits are revealed in a new study from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
Much like PEMCO has done in several polls per year dating to 2005, the state now surveys residents annually to learn about their driving habits. The Commission poll released Dec. 5 shows, among other findings, that 75% of Washington drivers think they’re likely to get a ticket for going 68 mph on a freeway posted for 60 mph, and one-third of drivers age 18-24 said they sent or received a text message or email while driving.
