We all know that the Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful places to visit. Though we may be biased, this claim was proven today when the WALLY team set up in Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square for the 30th annual Festival of Flowers. We were in the perfect position to attract not only meandering locals for a free photo, but also visitors from all over the world.  From New York to Australia, there weren't any shortages of transplants that the WALLY team as able to meet. We decided to ask our new friends “What fun have you had in Portland?” Here are our top five answers:

  • Pioneer Courthouse Square is a great destination for visitors. It is centrally located in downtown Portland next to the hustle and bustle of the city and all the tax-free shopping you can get!

  • Located just a couple blocks away from the Pioneer Courthouse Square is a pod of food carts, where many Portland Food Cartlandians post up on a typical weekend, trying a variety of ethnic food to ease their hunger from their adventurous travels.

  • With satisfied stomachs and a hankering for a good read, we found the place to go is Powell's City of Books – the largest independent chain of bookstores in the world.

  • Need to satisfy that sweet tooth?  Tourists line up among locals to grab one of Portland’s famous Voodoo Donuts. Who knew a maple bar with bacon would be so delicious!

  • After your tasty treat, visitors are able head over to the International Rose Test Garden, where beautiful views of Portland and luscious smells of roses will fill your senses. Spend ample time here at the park – after all, Portland is known as the City of Roses!
