Our Northwest

Oh, Christmas trees!

Earlier this month, WALLY Team made a stop at the Rotary Festival of Trees in Vancouver, WA which is in its 18th year!

The spirit of Christmas could be heard and seen all around us, and the team took their time looking at eleven beautifully decorated trees. Each tree had its own distinct style, one for every taste, and the WALLY Team chose five of our favorites to share with you!

We were drawn to this first tree by its ornate decorations that made us think of a Broadway show. Appropriately named “An Evening Out”, this tree was sponsored by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, and lucky winners could score prizes such as two tickets to see Oregon Ballet Theatre’s production of “The Nutcracker”!

For all the sports fans out there, including all the Supercharged Seahawks Fans, this “Sports Spectacular” tree would be a perfect fit! This sporty tree, sponsored by IQ Credit Union, caught our eyes with prizes such as sports gear like a badminton set and a Winterhawks suite!

If you have a sweet tooth, there was a tree for you – “Winter Candyland” caught our attention and got us in the mood for chocolate! Pac Paper Inc. sponsored this tree adorned with treats of the sweet and relaxing variety because you could enjoy your chocolate after a relaxing day at Athena Day Spa!

The next tree glitzed and shined so brightly that it was impossible to miss! “A Sparkling Christmas” kept us gazing for a few minutes, adoring its sophistication. The lucky winner of this small but mighty tree would also receive decadent prizes such as: jewelry by designer Diana Acuesta and two 90-minute hot stone massages! Sounds like heaven to us.

The last tree was our favorite, and it may be obvious why, “A Northwest Holiday” included so many things we love about Oregon and Washington! This tree, sponsored by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, included prizes to showcase the beauty of our region: a scenic flight over Mt St Helens, a beautiful framed photograph by Richard Howsley, and a guided fishing trip!

This event was well worth the trip, and if you’re in the Vancouver area during this time next year, stop by the Vancouver Rotary Festival of Trees and start your holiday season off with some cheer!
