PEMCO Carves Up Competition at West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta

Tuesday, October 25, 2011by  WALLY Team

PEMCO's team of brand ambassadors jammed into the WALLY van this past weekend and headed down to Tualatin, Ore. for the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta.

In the spirit of Halloween there were a number of exciting activities, including pie-eating competitions, live music, llama pens and a dog costume contest.

But the main attraction of the festival was the Giant Pumpkin Regatta. The name says it all. Thousand-pound pumpkins were hollowed out and used as boats in a series of crazy races.

You have to see it to believe it.

Looks can be deceiving. Ashley's competition found that out the hard way as the ever-cheerful PEMCO brand ambassador left them in her wake.

Our very own Ashley Bean took part in the action. Decked out in her wetsuit, PEMCO sunglasses and NW Female Action Figure T-shirt, Ashley represented PEMCO in style.

But the competition was menacing. There was no shortage of regatta veterans. Yet newcomer Ashley did not fold under pressure. Her competitive spirit came to life the moment she stepped into the pumpkin.

Ashley raised her game -- and her paddle -- to a whole 'nother level at the Giant Pumpkin Regatta.

Gathering ball after ball and propelling herself across the lake, Ashley carved up her costumed competitors and pushed her team through to victory!

On top of Ashley's victory, the sun unexpectedly peaked out from behind the clouds and the Oregonians we encountered were charming to say the least.

Our weekend in Tualatin was most definitely a success.
