We’ll 'Go Red for Women' on Friday, Feb. 2

Thursday, February 1, 2018by  Sharlyn Petit

go-red-for-women.jpgFriday, Feb. 2, is National Wear Red Day, and we're inviting our employees to wear red in support of Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association's campaign to increase awareness of heart disease.

Our Seattle headquarters will "wear red" with its red lights on the building's exterior.

The American Heart Association advocates for research, patient support, and education. PEMCO has been involved with American Heart Association programs in the past as a nonprofit supporter, Heart Walk sponsor and participant, and we also were recognized with the Fit-Friendly Gold Achievement for our Wellness program from 2013 – 2016.

You can wear red, too, or make a personal donation to the American Heart Association on the donation site. The site allows you to make a general donation, or a donation in honor of an individual, or in memorial.

pemco-building-red-lights.jpgWe encourage our employees to stay up to date on preventive care visits and know the recommendations for appointments based on age and risk factors. Heart disease affects both women and men, and the one thing you can do now is to know your risk – read up on recommended preventive care schedules, including annual physicals and routine screenings, from your medical providers.
